Shannon got married ...

On Friday the 23rd, I got a text message from Shannon saying "I just got married to Vylar". One email later I found out that they were married on the 23rd at 1:30pm, a civil ceremony with a judge, Vy, two witnesses and no guests.

Transit strike in New York

My brother lives in New York, I emailed him on what happening and how it affecting him.

My email:

I see on the news that there is a transit strike in New York. How is it effecting you guys (like getting to work)?

His email:

The short answer is that it takes longer. The long answer is that I have to walk a mile and a half to get to a NY/NJ transit line, that Kate has to take multiple cabs to get to work, and that it's very difficult to visit Benjamin. Don't get me started on the transit union. Those guys are fucking extortionists.

Short Day

Found out today, from the news, that today is one of shortest day of the year. It get light around 8am and dark again at about 4:30 pm. Plus today in Seattle, it is raining.

Potlucks and White Elephants

Our team at work had a white elephant gift exchange. My gift went around a few times. I also ended up getting the last gift, Viewiful Joe 2 for the PS2 and a $10 gift card to Fred Myers.


Before the gifts, our team had a potluck lunch. Some good food all around.

Today's game canceled due to sleep.

Due to Topher's work schedule and odd work hours, the game was canceled. Topher went homw and crashed. Of course I did not find this out untill after I showed up at Norm's place ready to game. Me and Norm did get a chance to play Fight City by Cheepass Games. I lost. Its a good game one you understand the rules.

Hasbro Library Game

Check out this link for "Hasbro Library Game", deluxe game in large wooden book shaped box. I found the orginal link on All Games Considered Pobcast. From the podcast, they say there are wooden and metal pieces and it fits on a bookshelf and look good.

Sleeping in ...

Being a day off, most people will sleep in. But today (Thanksgiving Day) workers are continuing to prep/paint the apartment units that I live in. Its not a good thing to wake up with someone scarping off paint off the outside bedroom window. Its just like the day before my New York trip, I took off to rest and finish any last minute items. That day the roof redone. It sounded like people running around on the roof, ok, maybe they weren't running, they were walking.
This also brings up the actual trip to New York, the city was taking down a building in the downtown area. They can not just blow it up, being downtown and all. They had to take it down by jack hammer and other tool. It good to wake up with the pounding of a jack hammer at 7:30 pm. Of course you don't need to sleep in on a vacation, you need to be up, visit and see the sights.
This is my rave for today.

Today's game canceled.

Found out early this morning that today's HERO game is canceled due to our game master being under the weather. Looks like we will be trying for next week.

CSI: Miami

Watched last night episode, at the end it pointed towards CBS web site for a major plot point. It is a good/different idea, it included a extended ended. It picked up from the ending of the Monday's episode to detail a plot point that looks to run most of the season. You do have to watch hummer add to get to the 5 min extended ended. There are are 2 interviews and a video tour of the MIAMI set.

Our HERO game.

This game was played on October 12th in the year of 2005 using the HERO game system with Fantasy HERO setting.

With our enlarged group (trackers and a non-trackers), we set traps and scouted the northern area. With smoking fires, a group of orcs and goblins showed up. (In the picture, our group is on the left and a small group shows up on the right.)

Three orcs turn and face Gregor (top of the picture) ready to attack him.

Gregor is knocked out by the three orcs. Vaden (lower left of the picture) and another of our party come up behind the orcs and kills one of them and damage the others later.

Making sure Gregor is not killed, we set to kill the other orcs. With the tide changed, the remaining orcs make a run for it (top right of the picture). Vaden follow behind the fleeing the orcs (middle of the picture). Be a little faster on his feet, Vaden is able to kill the orcs. A dead orc is a good orc.
