Emerald City Comicon was last weekend. I did not go the full weekend, just Saturday. I car pooled with Rich, a friend from work, that was in the Artest Alley and got my tickets at the door. From last year it seemed bigger and better. I found some items I had been looking for (four Mighty Muggs) and some item I did not know till I spoted them (two art prints: <1> <2>). I spent the day looking around and taking some pictures.
Wil Wheaton was again at Emerald City Comicon. After I got in the door I headed over media guest area. There was a short line of about 6 to 7 people to see, talk, get and have stuff signed. It was my turn. We shaked hands, told him that I did the composite of his Criminal Minds ep that his posted on his blog. I got that picture signed, a picture of him last year, his first book and got a copy of Sunken Treasure (that he signed, as you can see here). He handed them back and good bye. It was not till a few munites later that I relised that I had not paid him for the Sunken Treasure book. I went back from where I exited the line and handed him the money for the book. From Will I got a "Thanks for being honest." from him as I left.
The convention closed and I left. I had fun and I will come back next year.

Meeting of Will Wheaton.
This last Saturday I hitched a ride with Rich to Emerald City ComiCon. I had read on his blog that he was going to be there and made a effert to seek him out. While looking around, the voice over the speaker said he was here and signing now. I left the group of friend I was with and headed over there with a good 15 people long. It did not take too long. He said he like the shirt I had on and asked where I got it from. The shirt said "Nice to meet you. Roll Initiative" from geeklable. It made my day. I picked the hard back verison of his current book, The Happiest Days of Our Lives and had it signed along with a picture from his TNG days. I had wanted to pick up some of his other books, but he did not have any there. I will have to see what he has at San Diego ComiCon. I shuck his hand (good grip) and took a picture of him (see below). Had fun, not a full day con, but found a few items I did not know I needed till I found them.

Sanctuary Autograph
Just uploaded the pictures of the people from the Sanctuary cast that was at the 2007 ComicCon. I was at a booth that had star photoson Friday. I picking up a few photos to get sighned in the autograph area and asked if I know who Amanda Tapping was. I said yes, of course and was given a ticket for Saturday. I showed up for the 2pm time . The booth closed down and had some sheet thown over the boxs and photos. They had a table set up ready for the cast when they show up. The line was set part way around the booth and picked on the other side of the booth. When I got there Gary Jones (Walter Harriman from Stargate) was there and left shortly after the group showed up. Amanda Tapping, Martin Wood, Robin Dunne and Damian Kindler (I think).

The Panels I Got To.
To start out the convention floor was open from 10 am to 7 pm. The early panels I did not get to and the late panels near or after were too late for me. By 7 pm I had been on my feet for the good part of the day.
On Thursday I made it to my first panel at 11 am for DVD Sneak Peak 2007, which had some good info. Next was Stan Lee: True Believer at 1:45 pm which showed some clips of his upcoming DVD. I left before the end of the panel to head over the the BBC America: Torchwood panel. People were already in the room and there was a long line. I went to the end of the line. It moved slowly. It got to the point were the room was maxed out. So I left sadly, to roam the convention floor.
On Friday my first panel was at 12:15 pm for Stargate SG-1: The Movie, which was fun. I got a good seat around the middle of the room. The next panel was 1:30 pm in the same room, so I stayed put for the Stargate Atlantis with some new cast members. After the two panels the cast was signing posters, which I got (yea!). My next panel was Eureka at 4:45 pm which had most of the cast. Next was the Babylon 5: The lost Tales panel at 6 pm in the same room. They game out some free B5 swag. This was a full day. I went back to the room after the panel for some needed rest.
On Saturday my first panel of the day was the Simpsons panel at 10:45 pm, which I went with Rich. I had planed to go to the Heroes and the Futurama panel, but they filled up fast. I did not get a seat. So I went to roam the convention floor. I headed back to the room early, due to not feeling too good. My two hotel roommates I came down with had a cold (or something). Saturday is a big day for the con and next year I need to plan ahead for any major panels on this day.
On Sunday I did not go to any panels, I just went around the convention floor.
This is what I did for the panels. The convention floor was huge. I sent a lot of time there. Looking around, getting free stuff, taking pictures and purchased a few items. I also spend some time in the autograph area, getting a autograph (see prev post for what I got) or in line for a drawing for autographs (ie Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis).

Brent Spiner on stage.

The above pictures are of Brent Spiner from Star Trek: The Next Generation as part of Creation. You can click for a larger picture. (As stated below on the prev day.) These are not the best photos, they are from my camera phone. I took some better (I hope) photos with the standard camera and will post them on my fickr account (which is linked on this page) as soon as I get them developed.
Today was short day, but a good day. Stayed for the No Minimum Bid Auction today also. I won the bid on a Leonard Nimoy signed picture plaque. When Brent Spiner was on stage he posed for people who had camers when they came to the mic with questions. Brent was funny and was cracking jokes thru out the time he was on stage.
With thing winding down Gareth Von Kallenbach (check out his web site) came on stage with less than 1/6 of the chairs beeing filled. He went over news and rumored info for the movies comming up in the next 2 to 3 years.
Got some nice swag over the weekend. Star Trek pin, Farscape photo, Deuce Bigalow 2 and Transporter 2 mini posters, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Elektra, Mr. & Mrs. (2 ver) and Fantastic Four Movie posters.
Also I want to mention this book that was brought up yesterday. Kristine Smith had a chance to speak on stage of her fond memories of DeForest Kelley and has wrote a book about this science fiction icon. It was stated that there is little to do with Star Trek in her book.
The book is called DeForest Kelley: A Harvest of Memories : My Life and Times With a Remarkable Gentleman Actor and is available thru Amazon with paperback & hardback volumes. It is also available thru AuthorHouse.com (a little cheeper than Amazon) or you can call and order by dialing 1-888-280-7715.

Avery Brooks on stage.

Had a good time today. With the No Minimum Bid Auction, I won the bid for a canvas poster of the DS9 cast (season 8 , the last season , I think, one where Worf joined the crew and Dax had change host) It was limited, the only one they had there. The poster had autograph ticket with it and I got to go to the head of the autograph line. The poster was on the medium size, only 40in x 40in.
Avery Brooks was the main guest today. He mainly did Q & A from the audience about his DS9 and Spencer: For Hire days. And ending his time by doing a part from Othello and a sung a short song. The day was not over yet. They had for the Gold Weekend Patrons a dessert party. Icecream with plenty of topings was had by all.
